True crime author (and Bensenville native) Gary Sosniecki’s great-grandmother was horrifically  murdered in Mishawaka, Indiana in 1906. Sosniecki, also an award-winning journalist, began researching the case in 1996 and his book The Potato Masher Murder: Death at the Hands of a Jealous Husband is the product of these many years of hard work spent uncovering the truth surrounding his ancestor’s fate.
